ISU's Soles4Souls Shoe Drive Begins Next Week
01.08.2020 | Athletics, Academic Services
AMES, Iowa – Iowa State student-athletes will be conducting their annual Soles4Souls shoe drive at home Iowa State Athletics events next weekend.
The initiative of the drive is to collect new and gently used shoes to donate to Soles4Souls, a nonprofit organization that distributes shoes across the world for those in need. Over the past three academic years, student-athletes have collected a combined 2,900 pairs of shoes and have participated in International service trips to distribute shoes to people in need.
Iowa State student-athletes will be at four home events across the next week. Three of the four events will be at Hilton Coliseum, with student-athletes based on the South Concourse at women's basketball vs. TCU (Jan. 15), gymnastics vs. West Virginia (Jan. 17) and wrestling vs. North Dakota State (Jan. 19). In addition, student-athletes will also be collecting shoes at ISU's Jan. 17 swimming and diving meet vs. South Dakota State at Beyer Hall.
For those who wish to donate, but are unable to make it to one of the athletics events next week, there will be a collection box located in the atrium of the Jacobson Athletics Building throughout the month of January.
We thank you for your support!
