IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference released its recipients for the 2020 Football All-Academic team this afternoon, and 44 Iowa State football players were selected.
Iowa State's 44 honorees was the most in the league.
A total of 27 Cyclones earned first-team honors, including Chase Allen, who was honored for the fourth time in his career. Charlie Kolar, Dylan Soehner, Kene Nwangwu and Jake Hummel picked up first team accolades for the third time in their careers.
Other Cyclones to receive first team recognition were: Landen Akers, Blake Clark, Beau Coberley, Easton Dean, Sean Foster, Connor Guess, Robert Hudson, Kendell Jackson, Noah Juergensen, D.J. Miller, Drake Nettles, Colin Newell, Zach Petersen, Brock Purdy, Jake Remsburg, Tucker Robertson, Mike Rose, Jared Rus, Derek Schweiger, Matt Seres, Rory Walling, Isheem Young
Seventeen Cyclones received second team honors: Connor Assalley, Cordarrius Bailey, Joshua Bailey, Corey Dunn, Greg Eisworth II, Jarrod Hufford, Anthony Johnson Jr., Isaiah Lee, Will McDonald IV, Blake Peterson, Parker Rickert, Joe Rivera, Sean Shaw Jr., Grant Treiber, O'Rien Vance, Gerry Vaughn, Datrone Young
First team members consist of those who maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
