AMES, Iowa – Iowa State football stars Breece Hall (RB) and Mike Rose (LB) were named to The Athletic's All-America First Team, announced today by the organization's staff writers.
Hall was the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and Rose was the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2020.
The duo has helped the Cyclones record one of their finest seasons in school history in 2020, claiming sole possession of first place in the Big 12 regular-season standings, a spot in the Big 12 Championship and their first New Year's Six Bowl berth for the first time in school history.
Hall is the nation's leading rusher with 1,436 yards and has the nation's longest active streak for consecutive games with a touchdown with 11, a school record.
The Wichita, Kan., native, who is one of three finalists for the Doak Walker Award, leads the nation in 100-yard rushing games with eight. Hall ranks third nationally and has tied the school record for overall touchdowns in a season with 21.
Rose leads the team in tackles (90), interceptions (4) and QB hurries (6), ranking fourth in the Big 12 in tackles per game (8.2) and fifth nationally in interceptions.
The Brecksville, Ohio native, who has 10.0 TFL on the year, is tied for first nationally for interceptions by a linebacker with four.
