AMES, Iowa – Iowa State wrestling head coach Kevin Dresser announced an addition to the 2020 recruiting class on Thursday. Kysen Terukina, a four-time Hawaii State Champion, and No. 95 recruit overall in the class of 2020, has officially signed on to join Dresser's program.
"We are excited to add Kysen to this class," head coach Kevin Dresser said. "He is a tremendous athlete and we look forward to watching him train and compete at Iowa State. We plan on adding more late talent to this class in the coming months. It will shape up to be a very important class moving forward."
In February, Terukina became just the sixth wrestler in Hawaii history to win four state crowns, joining future-teammate Corey Cabanban in reaching this accomplishment. Projecting to wrestle at 125 or 133 pounds, Terukina is a three-time NHSCA National Champion. While wrestling for Kamehameha, Terukina has been dubbed the No. 1 P4P wrestler coming out of Hawaii in the class of 2020. He was the first Hawaiian to place at the Walsh Ironman Classic and also holds a Reno Worlds title.
Terukina is the latest installment in the class of 2020 that includes the likes of Cody Fisher, Ben Monroe, Zach Redding, Cam Robinson and Drew Woodley.
