AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State Letterwinners Club Leadership Board, with support from the Iowa State Athletics Department, announced today the 2020 Iowa State Hall of Fame induction ceremony and all Letterwinners Club reunions for the 2020-21 school year are postponed due to the continued threat of COVID-19.
The Hall of Fame induction ceremony was scheduled to take place on Oct. 16.
The 2020 Hall of Fame class – Janet Anson, Lisa Koll, Kaylee Manns, Ward Meythaler and Jake Varner - will be honored the following season on a date to be announced later.
The ISU Letterwinners Club noted the decision was made to allow this year's class the opportunity to experience a Hall of Fame weekend with their fans, friends, family and teammates.
"Iowa State's Hall of Fame weekend is really special," Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete & Letterwinner Engagement Lindsey Long said. "We felt all of the inductees from 2020 deserve to be honored properly. We owe it to them to celebrate this prestigious honor at our banquet, and we can't wait to have them be a part of our celebration next year."
Future dates for letterwinners reunions will be announced at a later time. Athletic alumni and letterwinners who are interested in learning about other opportunities to connect are encouraged to log into their profile at www.CycloneLetterwinners.org.
"We are grateful for the support we continue to receive from all our athletic alumni and will continue to seek opportunities to provide support and connection during this unprecedented time," said Long.
