AMES, Iowa – Iowa State Director of Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country, Martin Smith, rolled out the 2020 cross country schedule on Wednesday. The Cyclone men and women runners will compete in two regular season events and cap off the year with a trip to the Big 12 Championship.
The men will be seeking their fourth conference title in a row, while the women are looking to recapture the conference crown, which they've owned for seven of the last nine seasons.
The 2020 cross country slate opens with the Bob Timmons Classic in Lawrence, Kan., on Saturday, Sep. 19. The first race is set to begin at 9 a.m. The Cyclones will then travel to Columbia, Mo., on Saturday Oct. 3 to compete at the Gans Creek Classic. Race time in Columbia will be 9 a.m. The season concludes with a return trip to Lawrence for the Big 12 Championship on Friday Oct. 30. The women's race will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the men's race.
