AMES, Iowa – Iowa State scored the first eight points and never looked back Thursday, as the Cyclones beat Wisconsin-River Falls 99-41 in a women's basketball exhibition at Hilton Coliseum.
Emily Ryan led five Cyclones in double figures with a game-high 22 points. Nyamer Diew and Lexi Donarski each had 17 points, while Denae Fritz has 12. Izzi Zingaro had a double-double off the bench with 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Ryan added a game-high seven assists.
How It Happened
Iowa State was 4-of-7 from 3-point range to open the game, taking a 14-3 lead. The Cyclones closed the final 4:53 of the first quarter on a 16-0, taking a 30-6 lead after the first quarter. Iowa State had a 26-0 advantage in the paint in the first half, taking a 48-21 lead at the break. The Cyclones outscored the Falcons 31-6 in the third quarter and led 79-27 going into the fourth quarter. Iowa State opened the fourth quarter on a 10-2 run en route to the 99-41 final.
