NEW ORLEANS, La. – The USTFCCCA announced on Thursday its Individual and Team All-Academic honorees for the 2020-21 cross country season. The Cyclones earned the Team All-Academic award, while Mitchell Day, Milo Greder, Festus Lagat and Thomas Pollard were all honored as Individual All-Academic honorees.
Team All-Academic
The Iowa State men's cross country team boasts a 3.43 team cumulative GPA, earning them Team All-Academic accolades. To be eligible for this award, a team must hold a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale through the most recent grading period.
Individual All-Academic
For Greder, this is the fourth-time of his career that he has earned USTFCCCA All-Academic status. The four-time All-Big 12 performer is also a four-time Academic All-Big 12 performer.
Pollard is now a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree. Pollard adds this to his already decorated academic award list, which includes five Academic All-Big 12 appearances. Pollard held a perfect 4.0 GPA.
For the second-straight year, Day was honored as an USTFCCCA All-Academic athlete, while Lagat earned the recognition of the first time in his career.
Individual All-Academic awards are given to those runners who competed at the NCAA Championships or finished in the top five among all individuals at his or her respective conference championship, while also carrying a 3.25 GPA or higher.
