Cyclones To Close Regular Season At Kansas

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State softball team will close out the 2021 regular season this weekend with a three-game series vs. Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. The Cyclones have a chance to clinch the No. 5 seed at the Big 12 Softball Championship with a series win. All of this weekend's games at Arrocha Ballpark will be televised on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

-Iowa State is 41-61 all-time vs. Kansas. The Cyclones are 7-2 against the Jayhawks since 2017. Iowa State is looking to win a series in Lawrence for the first time since 1989.
-The Cyclones are coming off a 2-1 weekend vs. Texas Tech in Lubbock - Iowa State's first conference series win of the season.

-Sophomore Ellie Spelhaug has piled up a team-leading five complete games in just nine starts this season. The native of Bettendorf, Iowa has gone the distance in her last two appearances - a complete game shutout vs. Kansas City and a seven-strikeout day vs. TTU in a 4-1 win.
-Iowa State has hit 56 home runs this season, setting a new single-season school record. The program's single-season home run record has been set in each of Jamie Pinkerton's three full seasons as Iowa State's head coach (2018 - 45, 2019 - 48, 2021 - 52).
