Conditt Scores Nine Points In Loss To Italy

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior George Conditt scored nine points in Puerto Rico's 90-83 loss to Italy on Thursday at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Belgrade, Serbia.
Puerto Rico jumped out to a seven point lead at the half after leading by as much as 17 points in the second quarter, but was unable to hold off the Italians in the second half.
Conditt finished 4-for-7 from the field and pulled down four boards in 20 minutes of action.
Puerto Rico's first game of pool play against Senegal was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols, which allows it to advance to the bracket portion of the tournament.
Puerto Rico will play the first-place team from Group A, which includes the host Serbia, Philippines and the Dominican Republic. Bracket play will begin Saturday, July 3.
