AMES, Iowa – Iowa State Head Wrestling Coach Kevin Dresser has announced the addition of Virginia transfer Patrick Noonan to the Cyclone roster for the 2022-23 season.
Currently a sophomore, Noonan will have three years of eligibility remaining when he joins the Cyclone roster. Noonan is 4-1 this season at 133 pounds for the Cavaliers, having placed fifth at the Southeast Open. Three of Noonan's victories this year were by major decision.
"I'm very blessed to join the legacy of Iowa State wrestling and grow as a wrestler with these guys," Noonan said. "Iowa State is exactly where I need to be and I couldn't be more excited for the coming years. Roll Clones!"
Coming out of high school, Noonan was ranked 10th at 132 pounds by Intermat and 15th by FloWrestling, while being ranked 91st overall by FloWrestling. The Stroudsburg, Pa. native was the runner-up at 132 pounds at the 2020 Pennsylvania State Championships. Noonan is a three-time Journeyman Classic Champion.
