EVANSTON, Ill. – The Iowa State tennis team posted a 3-0 singles record on the first day of action Friday at the Wildcat Invite, hosted by Northwestern University.
The Cyclones earned a pair of singles wins against opponents from Big 12 foe Kansas, as well as one against Michigan State.
Chie Kezuka beat KU's Silvia Maria Costache, 7-5, 7-6 (5) in her opening singles match of the tournament. Kezuka's teammate, Sofia Cabezas, defeated Carmen Roxana Manu, 6-0, 6-7, 6-2.
Anna Supapitch Kuearum wrapped up singles action with a 6-3, 6-3 win against Michigan State's Juliette Nask.
Action resumes Saturday at the tournament.
