Iowa State to Compete for Doubles and Singles Titles at Big 12 Fall Invite

STILLWATER, Oklahoma - Iowa State tennis will have student-athletes competing against each other for the doubles title and the flight one singles title at the Big 12 Fall Series Championships.

Both Cyclone doubles pairs picked up wins today in their matchups to advance to the finals. Sophomore Anna Supapitch Kuearun and senior Thasaporn Naklo took down No. 43 ranked Kristina Novak and Ayumi Miyamoto of Oklahoma State with a final score of 8-6. No. 39 ranked Sofia Cabezas and Miska Kadleckova advanced to the doubles final by way of an 8-5 victory over Baylor's Anita Sahdiieva and Lyubov Kostenko.

The duos will go head-to-head tomorrow in the doubles finals.

In singles action, it was Naklo picking up another ranked win en route to the championship. The Bangkok, Thailand native first defeated Florentine Dekkers from Kansas State 6-3, 6-3 and then took down Kansas' No. 116 ranked Malkia Ngounoue 6-3, 6-1 to advance to the finals match of the flight one singles bracket.

Supapitch Kuearum was the other Cyclone who saw success in her singles matches on day two. In her first match, she beat Alexandra Pisareva from Oklahoma 6-2, 6-2. She then defeated another Sooner, Emma Staker, with a final score of 6-4, 6-2.

Supapitch Kuearum will take on Naklo tomorrow in the finals match of the flight one singles bracket.
