AMES, Iowa – Iowa State wide receiver Xavier Hutchinson has been named a CBS Sports Second-Team All-American.
The Biletnikoff Award finalist leads all FBS players averaging 8.9 receptions per game after breaking his own school record with 107 receptions this season. The senior also topped the career record that was previously held by Allen Lazard, finishing with 254 career receptions.
Hutchinson, a senior from Jacksonville, Florida, has 45 more receptions than the next best Big 12 player and has 1,171 receiving yards, the most in the conference and the seventh-most nationally. He finished the season with six receiving touchdowns.
He was an extremely consistent threat for the Cyclone offense, catching at least eight passes in 11 of 12 games.
Hutchinson is the 12th Cyclone to earn All-America honors under head coach Matt Campbell.
