AMES, Iowa – Two Cyclone freshman stars from 2021 will play key roles for the future of the program in wide receiver Jaylin Noel and defensive back Beau Freyler.
Noel recorded one of the best rookie seasons by a wide receiver in Cyclone history in 2021, recording 39 catches for 269 yards. His 39 receptions tied for third on ISU's freshman record list. He also averaged 26.0 yards on 11 kickoff returns, the eighth-best single-season total in school history.
Freyler emerged as one of the Big 12's top freshman defensive backs in 2021, earning honorable mention All-Big 12 accolades.
