NORMAN, Okla. – Iowa State (21-24, 2-10 Big 12) fell to No. 1 Oklahoma (42-1, 11-1 Big 12), 9-0, in five innings Saturday afternoon at Marita Hynes Field.
The Cyclone bats were quiet as Sooner ace Jordy Bahl took a perfect game into the final inning. Kaylee Pond drew a two-out walk in the top of the fifth before Kasey Simpson singled to end Bahl's no-hit bid.
Saya Swain (6-4) got the starting nod in the circle but ran into some early trouble as Oklahoma scored two runs in the first and another in the second. Ellie Spelhaug entered in relief and tossed 2.2 innings before giving way to Karlie Charles.
The Iowa State arms struggled to stifle the Sooner hitters as Oklahoma crossed a run in the third before exploding for five in the fourth to put the game out of reach at 9-0.
