AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team has been ranked No. 22 in the Division I ITA Collegiate Tennis preseason poll, while also being picked fourth in the Big 12 Women's Tennis Preseason Poll by the league's coaches.
The Cyclones are one of seven Big 12 teams either ranked or receiving votes in the ITA poll. ISU's schedule features eight matches against teams ranked or receiving votes, including nonconference matches against No. 15 Auburn and No. 16 UCLA, as well as a potential showdown against No. 11 Miami (Fla.).
The No. 4 selection in the Big 12 preseason poll is Iowa State's highest in program history. In 2022, eight conference teams finished ranked in the Top 60 in the ITA postseason poll with seven teams reaching the NCAA Tournament.
Iowa State will open the spring season this weekend at the Weinman Foundation Invitational at the University of Hawai'i.
Dual play starts next weekend at Drake with Iowa State facing the host Bulldogs and South Dakota State on Saturday, Jan. 14.
