The Series
West Virginia is a school that Iowa State has found success against. The Mountaineers are the only Big 12 school that the Cyclones have a winning record against all-time. The teams have faced off a total of 11 times and Iowa State leads the series 10-1. Most recently, head coach Boomer Saia and his team took down West Virginia, 4-0, in the opening round of the Big 12 tournament in April of 2022.

Player to Watch
Miska Kadleckova has been the mark of consistency for Saia in her junior year campaign. With three regular season matches left, Kadleckova leads her team in wins with a record of 50-17, and is second in win percentage, .746.
In singles, she has a team-best record of 25-8, and is three wins short of tying the school for overall single-season singles wins. In doubles, she also leads her peers with a record of 25-9 while playing mostly with Sofia Cabezas. With a doubles win this weekend, Kadleckova would tie the school record for overall single-season doubles wins.
A singles win on Saturday would also move the Banska Bystrica, Slovakia native into the program's top five for conference regular season career singles wins with 12.
Cyclone Tennis Quick Hit
With a 4-2 record in conference play, the Cyclones are currently in fourth place in the Big 12 with three matches remaining this season. A win this weekend would move the Cyclones up to 5-2 in the conference play, setting a new program record for conference wins in a season.
Saia currently owns a Big 12 record of 15-20 (.428) since becoming the head coach. Prior to his tenure, no coach had a higher winning percentage than .208.
In the Rankings
