AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior Thasaporn Naklo has earned a spot in the 2023 NCAA Division I Women's Singles Championship, which will be played May 22-27 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
This will be Naklo's second appearance in the championship after earning a spot in 2022. In her first appearance, the Bangkok, Thailand, native advanced to the Round of 32, finishing 1-1.
Naklo, who is ranked No. 66 nationally, went 21-10 in singles action this season, including 5-3 in Big 12 play, while playing on the top court for the Cyclones.
Naklo's teammate Ange Oby Kajuru is the No. 3 alternate in the singles field and will participate if three players drop out of the field. Kajuru, the Cyclones' No. 2 singles player, went 23-6 this season.
The singles field is composed of 64 players.
