Naklo Falls At NCAA Individual Singles Championship

ORLANDO – Iowa State's Thasaporn Naklo dropped a 4-6, 4-6 decision to UCLA's 14th-ranked Fangran Tian in the first round of the NCAA Individual Singles Championship at the USTA National Campus.
The match was halted after the first set when lightning entered the area. After a lengthy delay, the match continued inside.
Naklo fell behind 3-1 in the second set, but rallied to take a 4-3 lead. The momentum was short-lived as Tian won the next three games to take the match.
Naklo finishes her outstanding career with 147 victories, ranking fourth in school history. Her 77 career singles wins ranks second in the Cyclone record books, while her 70 doubles victories is sixth all time.
