AMES, Iowa – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its final singles and doubles rankings of the 2023 season Wednesday morning. Three Cyclones are ranked on the singles list while Iowa State has three pairs ranked in doubles.
Thasaporn Naklo (No. 40), Ange Oby Kajuru (No. 52) and Miska Kadleckova (No. 123) are all ranked in singles. Three Cyclone pairs ended the year ranked in doubles: Anna Supapitch Kuearum/Naklo (No. 49), Kajuru/Chie Kezuka (No. 75) and Kajuru/Xinyi Nong (No. 77).
Naklo, a qualifier for the 2023 NCAA Individual Singles Championship, posted a 24-12 overall record this season including a 13-9 mark in dual action at the No. 1 spot. She finished her outstanding career with 147 victories, ranking fourth in school history. Her 77 career singles wins ranks second in the Cyclone record books, while her 70 doubles victories are sixth all time.
Kajuru compiled a 25-6 overall record in 2022-23, including a 19-4 mark in dual action at the No. 2 spot for the Cyclones. Kajuru secured a victory in three of Iowa State's four NCAA tournament duals, highlighted by a win against NC State's No. 13 Alana Smith in the national quarterfinals.
Kadleckova rounds out the singles rankings for the Cyclones. She posted a 29-11 overall record with a 19-6 mark in duals. Kadleckova set the single season school record for singles (29) and doubles (30) victories in 2022-23.
Iowa State finished the season ranked No. 8 in the final team rankings, released last week, its highest to end a season in program history. ISU completed the most storied season in school history, finishing 21-6 overall and advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tennis Tournament.
