Osunniyi to Play in NBA Summer League with Wizards

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Recent Iowa State graduate Osun Osunniyi has signed on to play with the Washington Wizards in the NBA2k24 Summer League July 7-17 in Las Vegas.Â
Osunniyi helped the Cyclones to the NCAA Tournament this past season, as he earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors. In his lone season with the Cyclones, Osunniyi averaged 8.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and blocked 35 shots. He spent his first three collegiate seasons at St. Bonaventure.
In a victory over TCU, Osunniyi grabbed his 1,000th career rebound. By doing so, he became the 12th active NCAA Division I player with 1,000 career points and rebounds. Osunniyi appeared in all 33 games for the Cyclones, while starting 29 of them. He scored in double figures 11 times, with Iowa State going 7-4 in those games. Â
Osunniyi had a season-high 17 points in a victory over Villanova in the PKI Quarterfinals. He twice grabbed eight rebounds, while he blocked three shots on three different occasions.Â
