AMES, Iowa – Addy Brown has been named the Cyclone Club Athlete of the Week after helping Iowa State women's basketball to a 2-0 week in Big 12 action.
Brown was phenomenal as she averaged a double-double in wins against Kansas and at BYU. She was third in the league with 19.0 points per game and second with 10.50 rebounds per game, the only Big 12 player to be top 3 in both categories this week.
The freshman shot 51.9 percent from the floor across the two games.
In a 69-61 victory over Kansas, Brown recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 14 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, one shy of her career best. She owns the second-most double-doubles by a freshman in the Bill Fennelly era.
Brown tallied 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists to her stat line in an 80-75 road win Saturday at BYU. Fifteen of her 24 points came in the second half on 5-of-7 shooting from the floor, including a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.
Iowa State is back in action against West Virginia Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 6:30 p.m.
