Crooks, Ryan Named to Naismith Trophy Award Watch List

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State women's basketball senior Emily Ryan and sophomore Audi Crooks are both being looked at among the nation's best as both have been named to the 2025 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Women's Watch List.
This is the second time Ryan has been named to the award watch list after being featured in 2023 and the first time Crooks has appeared on the watch list.
The Claflin, Kansas native was also named to the Watch List for the Nancy Lieberman Award. The Claflin, Kansas native was an All-Big 12 Tournament Team honoree last year, and broke ISU's career assists record, setting the new best at 782 dimes entering the 2024-25 season. Offensively, Ryan averaged 11.6 points per game, including shooting 43.5 percent from 3-point range.
Crooks became a household name overnight following her impressive performance in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, leading Iowa State back from down 20 to top No. 10-seed Maryland, 93-86, and advance to the second round. She poured in 40 points on 18-of-20 shooting from the floor, joining Bill Walton (UCLA, 1973) as the only players to score 40 or more points while shooting at least 90.0 percent from the floor.
The Algona, Iowa native became the first Iowa State women's basketball player to earn unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 First Team as well as All-America status after she was announced as an AP Honorable Mention All-American.
The duo is helping lead the Cyclones into one of the program's most anticipated seasons in school history, with Iowa State checking in at No. 8 in the Associated Press Preseason Poll and being chosen by the league's coaches in second place in the Big 12 Preseason Poll.
Iowa State hosts Central College for an exhibition on Wednesday night before kicking off the regular season Monday at 11 a.m. against Chicago State at Hilton Coliseum. General admission season and single-game tickets are on sale through the Iowa State Athletics Ticket Office, here.
