Cyclones in the NBA: Week 1
AMES, Iowa – The 2024-2025 NBA Season has tipped off, with four Cyclones making at least three appearances. Tyrese Haliburton has established himself as the top performing Cyclone in the League so far with 2 double-doubles in his first week.
Tyrese Haliburton - #0, Indiana Pacers (2-3)
Tyrese and the Pacers have had an interesting start to the season, narrowly escaping the 1-4 Detroit Pistons, but defeating the now 4-1 Boston Celtics. Haliburton leads the team in assists (6.6) and steals (1.4).
Netflix has announced Tyrese as a member in the lineup for Season Two of their critically acclaimed docuseries "Starting 5". Tyrese will be joined by fellow stars James Harden, Kevin Durant, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Jaylen Brown. It is expected to debut next fall.

Haliburton's best performance came in a loss against Orlando, where he racked up a near triple-double, finishing with 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 10 assists (19-9-10), shooting 4-9 from long-range. He also had a double-double against Boston, where he finished with 17-6-12. Other performances included 22 points against Philadelphia and 15 points against Detroit in their season opener.
While some Cyclones found themselves moving teams, Haliburton made a move of his own, signing a massive multi-year shoe deal with Puma. It is expected that he will be a face of the company.

Georges Niang - #20, Cleveland Cavaliers (5-0)
Georges has helped the Cavaliers get out to an Eastern Conference best 5-0, with road wins over Toronto, Washington, and New York. They also picked up 2 home wins against Detroit and the Lakers.
Niang has hit a 3-pointer in every game thus far, with a season-high of three against Toronto. Georges had his best performance of the week against Toronto, finishing with 11 points and a rebound.

Talen Horten-Tucker - #22, Chicago Bulls (3-2)
Horton-Tucker made the move over to Chicago this offseason signing a 1-year deal with the Bulls. He has helped Chicago get out to a 3-2 start, where Horton-Tucker has appeared in 3 games thus far. His season high is 2 points against Oklahoma City.

Monté Morris - #23, Phoenix Suns (3-1)
Monté Morris found himself in Phoenix after signing a 1-year contract with the Suns this offseason. He has been a great veteran presence in the backcourt for the Suns, being a big part of their early season success.
Morris's best game came in a win against Dallas where he finished with 8-3-3. He also had two 3-pointers in route to eight points as well in a close loss against the Lakers.
