AMES, Iowa – Iowa State pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach Noah Pauley has been named Wide Receivers Coach of the Year by FootballScoop.com for his efforts in 2024.
Pauley helped the Cyclones to an 11-3 overall record, a berth in the Big 12 Championship and a Pop-Tarts Bowl Championship in his second season in Ames. The 11 wins were a school record for the program, which had never reached 10 wins in the program's 133-year history.
The Cyclone offense took another step forward thanks in part to Pauley's receiving group.
Senior wideouts Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel were virtually unstoppable for Iowa State. The duo combined for 167 receptions, 2,377 receiving yards and 17 touchdown catches. They were the nation's only teammates to top 1,100 receiving yards each this season.
Higgins was named an All-American, while Noel earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors as a wide receiver.
Noel finished his career second in school history for receptions (285), fourth in receiving yards (2,855) and tied for fourth in TD receptions (18).
Higgins played just two seasons at ISU but proved himself as one of the school's best, racking up Top-10 numbers for receptions (140), receiving yards (2,166) and receiving TDs (15).
