Spring Football: Wide Receivers and Cornerbacks

AMES, Iowa – Wide receivers and cornerbacks were the topic of discussion on Wednesday at the final position group media availability of the spring.
Cornerbacks coach Hank Poteat, who is entering his second season with the Cyclones, talked to media about the recent groups development, including that of redshirt sophomore Jontez Williams who started two games last season and figures to be in the mix for a starting spot in 2024. Poteat, a 10-year NFL veteran and Super Bowl winner, also talked about T.J. Tampa's NFL Draft prospects.
On the offensive side of the ball, Noah Pauley's wide receiver group returns its top three pass catchers. Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins combined for 119 receptions and 13 touchdown catches, including seven scoring plays of 50 yards or more.
