The 49ers started the season off with a win on Monday night behind Brock Purdy's solid performance. Purdy completed 19 passes for 231 yards while at a 66 percent completion rate in San Francisco's 32-19 victory over the Jets. He also contributed an 11-yard scamper on the ground.

Purdy outdueled four-time MVP QB Aaron Rodgers in the victory, as Rodgers threw one interception to Purdy's zero, and had a quarterback rating of 51.1 to Purdy's 83.9.

David Montgomery scored the game winning touchdown in overtime for the Lions in their 26-20 victory Sunday night. Montgomery tallied an impressive 17 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown on the ground, along with catching one pass for two yards.

Montgomery showed his workhorse ability by taking five carries in the Lions eight-play, game-winning drive in overtime; averaging an impressive 11 yards-per-carry on his four non-touchdown runs in the period.

Breece Hall scored the opening touchdown of the game on Monday night for the Jets in their 32-19 loss to the 49ers. Hall totaled 16 rushes for 54 yards and a TD on the ground, while also having 5 receptions for 39 yards in the passing game.

After having both Breece Hall and David Montgomery find the endzone, Iowa State was one of only four teams with multiple running backs score a rushing touchdown in week one, joining Alabama, Ohio State and Oklahoma.

Allen Lazard – vs. San Francisco 49ers – 6 rec., 89 yds, 2 TD
Allen Lazard reached the endzone twice on the Jets' opening night loss to the 49ers. Lazard tallied six receptions for 89 yards and two touchdowns in what was one of the best games of his NFL career.

Lazard was the only New York WR to reach the endzone on Monday night, doing it twice. He also tied for the most receptions on the team in the game on nine targets.
