FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Iowa State tennis team went an impressive 7-0 in singles on the first day of the Jon Messick Invitational in Fort Collins, Colorado. Julia Camblor and Cristina Ramos Sierra also claimed the Friday Flight C doubles championship by going 2-0 in the flight.
Camblor and Ramos took home the title after winning both matches in the four-team bracket. In round one, they defeated Wyoming's Elena Trencheva and Ruby Young, 6-4 to advance to the title match where they then took down Oregon's Olivia Symons and Julia Visaya, 7-6 (3).
Valeska San Martin Ramirez and Suzanie Pretorius picked up their third doubles win of the year as a pair after beating Air Force's Carissa Holguin and Charisse Tigrado, 6-0. They fell short in the Flight F championship though, falling to Wyoming's Adel Ismagulova and Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia, 6-4.
Anna Supapitch Kuearum and Ashlee Narker dropped their first match of the day in Flight A against Colorado State's Viktoryia Zhadzinskaya and Paisha Douglas, 7-5. But rebounded in dominant fashion with a win over Utah State's Cielo Tapia-Cruz and Magdalena Nunez Pureco, 6-0.

Narker did the same by taking down Colorado State's Sarah Weekley, 6-4, 6-3. She'll face Wyoming's Violetta Borodina in the semis.
In Flight B, Ramos continued her hot start to her collegiate career by knocking off South Dakota's Amanda de Oliveira, 6-2, 6-2. Ramos now owns a 9-0 overall record to start the fall season and will look to stay unbeaten against Patsy Daughters from Oregon in the semifinals.
