ISU Takes Down Texas Tech, 71-58

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State (13-6, 4-2 Big 12) topped Texas Tech (12-7, 1-5 Big 12) by a score of 71-58 Tuesday night. Iowa State was led by two 20-point scorers.
Audi Crooks led the game with 28 points, nearly hitting a double-double with nine rebounds. Crooks also had two blocks and a steal. Addy Brown totaled 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting, also adding seven rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block.
How it Happened
Crooks made her first three shot attempts to put the Cyclones up 6-0 to start. After TTU brought it back within one, Arianna Jackson made a three-point play to put Iowa State up 9-5 at the media timeout. Five lead changes followed, with Texas Tech holding a four-point edge of 27-13 after one.
After a Texas Tech jumper to start the quarter, Iowa State followed with an 8-0 run including five points by Brown to flip the lead at 21-19. Brown continued to command the quarter with two more buckets, while the run stretched to 14 capped with an Emily Ryan layup making it 27-19. In a physical battle, the Red Raiders sent in five free throws to help draw within three (31-28) at the half.
Another lead change came at 32-31, but the Cyclones took it right back and went on their way to build a nine-point lead (45-36) as Crooks collected her 12th point of the quarter. At the end of three, ISU led 51-38.
The Cyclones remained with a double-digit lead as the scoreboard read 62-49 at the final media timeout. With just over a minute to play, ISU reached 70 points on a 6-0 run while TTU held 54. Iowa State went on to seal it 71-58.
Top Performance
Audi Crooks completed the 12th 20-plus point game of her season and 29th of her career with 28 on the night. Crooks has now scored 20 or more in eight of the last nine contests. Addy Brown had her fifth 20-plus point outing of the season and 10th of her career with 21.

- With her fourth rebound of the night, Crooks recorded her 400th career board.
- Addy Brown added 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the floor, her 10th career game with 20-plus points and fifth this season.
