AMES, Iowa – The Haliburton-led Pacers continue to succeed, and former Cyclones build upon strong campaigns as we hit the halfway mark on the season.
Tyrese Haliburton - #0, Indiana Pacers (24-19)
Although Haliburton seemed like he could miss some time with an apparent groin injury after exiting against the Cavaliers last week, he finished off the week playing an average of 33 minutes in the team's last two games, winning both.
In such matchups, Haliburton shined against Detroit, finishing with 17 points, four rebounds, and eight assists (17-4-8). He also had no turnovers in the contest, bringing his season average to under two turnovers a game and almost nine assists per game, giving him the second-best assist-to-turnover ratio in the league led only by Chris Paul.
In Haliburton's second outing of the week he finished with 9-5-9 in a win against Philadelphia.
Haliburton's Week: 13 PPG, 8.5 APG, 4.5 RPG
Next Week: vs. SAS (1/25), vs. DET (1/29)
Georges Niang - #20, Cleveland Cavaliers (36-7)
Niang had a productive week, putting in his best effort thus far this season Saturday in Minnesota, putting up 15 points and 10 rebounds on 75% from downtown, leading the Cavs to a win.
Niang also had 5-2-1 in a loss to the league's second best Thunder, 8-6-1 in a win against Phoenix, and eight points and five rebounds in a loss in Houston to end the week.
Niang's Week: 9 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 0.8 APG
Next Week: @ PHI (1/24), vs. HOU (1/25), vs. DET (1/27), @ MIA (1/29)
Talen Horton-Tucker - #22, Chicago Bulls (19-25)
Horton-Tucker had a quiet start to the week, only playing in one of the team's first two matchups, putting up just a rebound in four minutes of gameplay in a loss to the Blazers. That wasn't a telling prelude for the following outing in LA against the Clippers, as Talen saw 23 minutes, finishing with a season-best 18 points, a rebound, and three assists.
Horton-Tucker's Week: 9 PPG, 1 RPG, 1.5 APG
Next Week: @ GSW (1/23), vs. PHI (1/25), vs. DEN (1/27), @ BOS (1/29)
