Iowa State Football Signs 12 High School Athletes

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State football program and head coach Jimmy Rogers have announced the signing of 12 high school student-athletes during the February signing period.

Iowa State will also have nine players joining this summer from its original December signing class.

Amiri Barnes – CB – 5-11 – 180 – Fr. – Katy, Texas (Cypress Lakes HS)
Played for head coach Tyrone Carter at Cypress Lakes High School … three-star prospect by ESPN, 247Sports and Rivals … played both ways as a senior, finishing with 22 tackles, four for loss, and two interceptions on defense … earned First Team All-District honors as a defensive back and second team as a wide receiver … as a junior, finished with 16 tackles, one TFL and two pass breakups … originally signed with Washington State.
