Outdoor: Qualified for NCAA West Prelims in the 800-meter run, finishing 41^st (1:51.91) … posted a season-best 1:48.39 for second at the Desert Heat Classic … ran in the 800m and 4x400m relay at Big 12 Championships … also competed at Texas Relays and the Beach Invite.

Indoor: Earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in the 800-meter run (DNF) at NCAA Championships … entered postseason with the eighth-fastest 800m time in the nation of 1:46.75 set at the Tyson Invite … his PR of 1:46.75 ranks third in Iowa State history … won the silver medal at Big 12 Championships in the 800m (1:48.85) … ran the second leg of the fourth-fastest DMR (9:30.96) in program history at the Arkansas Qualifier and the sixth-fastest 4x400 at Big 12 Championships … won the 800m at the ISU Classic (1:47.62) and ISU Holiday Invite (1:47.69).

Indoor: Competed in five meets for Iowa State … qualified for NCAA Championships as member of distance medley relay, with the meet being canceled due to COVID-19 outbreak worldwide … claimed silver medal in 600-yard run at the Big 12 Championships in personal best 1:09.45, helping ISU men claim the team title … also ran as member of 4x400m relay (ninth, 3:15.60) at the conference championships … ran 400-meter leg for school record distance medley relay at the Indiana Relays … was winner of 600-yard run at the Cyclone Open … clocked personal best 48.27 to finish fifth in the 400-meter dash at the Iowa State Classic … competed in the 4x400-meter relay at the Wieczorek Invite.

Outdoor: Finished season with personal best in 800-meter run of 1:49.26 en route to finishing sixth at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships … was first time Gentil went under 1:50 in the 800 in his career … was crucial part of Hy-Vee Cup win at Drake Relays, running on winning 4x800 (7:20.77) and distance medley relay (9:48.63) teams … ran in the 800 meters at the Cardinal Classic and Sun Angel Classic … was member of 4x400-meter relays at Sun Angel Classic and Stanford Invitational, being part of winning team at the latter … also ran 400-meter dash at Stanford Invite.
