Capped his storied Cyclone career with his second consecutive All-America honor, courtesy of a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships … wrestled to his seed at the NCAA Championship, placing fifth as the No. 5 seed … placed second at the Big 12 Championship, the best finish of his career … became the second wrestler in program history to qualify for five NCAA Championships … posted 24-5 record with none of his five losses came to anyone worse than a No. 4 seed at the NCAA Championships … named Big 12 and NCAA wrestler of the week after beating No. 1 Aaron Brooks (Penn State), 9-7, at the Collegiate Duals, Brooks’ only loss of the season … registered 11 bonus-point wins (three major decisions, four tech falls, four pins) … claimed 15 wins against ranked opponents … bumped up from 184 to 197 against No. 12 Cornell due to an injury to ISU’s heavyweight and helped secure a dual victory for the Cyclones by defeating eventual All-American Jacob Cardenas, 4-1.
2021-22
2022 NCAA Qualifier ... Earned All-American honors for the first time with a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Championships ... First Iowa State All-American at 184 pounds since Jake Varner in 2008 ... Became the 48th Cyclone to qualify at least four times for the NCAA Championships ... finished third at 184-pounds at the Big 12 Championship ... compiled a 22-6 overall record, including 12-2 in dual meets ... Finished year with five major decisions, two tech falls and four falls ... Had 11 wins over top 30 ranked wrestlers, including a 13-2 major decision against No. 6 Trey Munoz of Oregon State at the NCAA Championships ... Finished second at the Warren Williamson Daktronics Open ... Four of his eight wins between the Big 12 Championship and NCAA Championships came via bonus points ... elected to return in 2022-23 for his extra season due to the Covid waiver.Â
2020-21

2019-20
Wrestled to a 16-11 record, 8-6 dual, during his redshirt sophomore season… qualified for the NCAA Championships at 184 pounds and was seeded 23rd for the national tournament before the season ended early due to the outbreak of Covid-19 virus worldwide… qualified for the NCAA Championships with a fifth-place finish at the Big 12 Championship… made the switch from 174 pounds to 184 pounds in January… compiled a 12-7 record after the weight switch… wrestled a grueling schedule, taking on 14 wrestlers ranked in the final NCAA Coaches Poll throughout the season… second on the team in total dual back points (24)… tallied 20 dual takedowns on the year… won four matches by major decision, three pins and one technical fall.
2018-19
Wrestled to a 28-14 record in his first season in the lineup for Iowa State… qualified for the 2019 NCAA Championships… took fifth place at the Big 12 Championship… tallied a 10-4 record in dual competition… tied for the team lead in dual-takedowns with 40 on the year… led the team in major decision wins with 10 and was second on the team in bonus-point wins with 16… finished sixth at the Southern Scuffle… earned a runner-up finish at the Last Chance Open and the Cyclone Open… finished fifth at the Lindenwood Open.
2017-18
Redshirted his initial season as a Cyclone… compiled an impressive 24-2 record in his first season at Iowa State… only two losses came to UNI’s Big 12 Champ, Taylor Lujan… took first place at the Duhawk Open, Pat ‘Flash’ Flanagan Open, UNI Open and Lindenwood Open… finished third at the Grand View Open and the Cyclone Open… 17 of his 24 wins came by bonus-point margin… won five matches by fall, six by technical fall and 6 by major decision.
