Wrestled to a 24-7 record during his redshirt freshman season… qualified for the 2019 NCAA Championship where he made it to the round of 12… took third at the Big 12 Championship… wrestled to an 11-3 mark in duals… lead the team in nearfall points with 11 four-point nearfalls and four two-point nearfalls… lead the team in total dual-match points scored with 149, averaging over 10 points per dual outing… finished runner-up at the Southern Scuffle… won the Lindenwood Open… finished the season with 11 bonus-point victories that included four major decisions, four technical falls and three pins… Gomez's four technical falls was the most by a Cyclone starter… his fall over Roman Bravo-Young at the Southern Scuffle was named one of the top-10 best matches by FloWrestling.
