Abe Spencer is in his first season as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Iowa State football program.
Spencer spent the last two seasons (2024-25) on staff at Middle Tennessee State, following two seasons at Austin Peay (2022-23) where he was on Chris Campbell’s strength staff for the Governors.
At APSU, Spencer oversaw softball and baseball while assisting with the football program as it advanced to the 2023 FCS playoffs and won a pair of conference titles.
The Stillwater, Oklahoma native, was at Oklahoma State from 2020-22, working with the 2021-22 national champion men’s cheer team. He also assisted with the Cowboy football team.
While at OSU, Spencer was a part of a staff that won the 2022 Fiesta Bowl.
Spencer is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), has a USAW Level 1 certification and is certified CPR/AED/First Aid by the American Red Cross.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management with a minor in business from Oklahoma Christian in 2020. He was a pitcher and first baseman on the Eagles’ baseball team.
