Kyle Krezek spent two seasons (2024-25)Â as a graduate assistant working with the defense at Iowa State.
The 2025 Cyclones finished the season on a three-game winning streak and finished 8-4 overall. ISU qualified for a bowl game, though it ultimately declined the invitation following a coaching change. Iowa State had 14 players receive All-Big 12 recognition, including Marcus Neal Jr. and Domonique Orange, who were third-team selections.
ISU's defense allowed just 20.2 points per game in 2025, ranking 26th nationally in scoring defense.
In his first season as a graduate assistant in 2024, Iowa State posted the best season in school history, reaching double-digit victories for the first time. The Cyclones finished 11-3 overall, reached the Dr Pepper Big 12 Championship game and won the Pop-Tarts Bowl with a thrilling 42-41 win against No. 15 Miami.
The Cyclone defense allowed just 22.9 points per contest despite battling significant injuries on that side of the ball in 2024. ISU gave up fewer than 20 points in six games, tied for the second-most games among Big 12 teams. Seven Cyclone defenders were recognized on the All-Big 12 teams during the record-setting season.
Krezek played for the Cyclones from 2019-22. He was an Academic All-Big 12 First Team honoree in 2022 and a member of the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team in 2020.
The Cedar Rapids, Iowa, native earned his degree in kinesiology and health, as well as another bachelor's degree in psychology in 2023.
