Nathan Peoples is in his first season as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Iowa State.
Peoples, a Tampa, Florida native, brings an extensive history of successful coaching at the FBS level.
He spent the last nine seasons in the Big 12 Conference, coaching at Texas (2017-20) and Oklahoma State (2021-25).
Peoples also had stops at his alma mater Mississippi State (1999, 2015-16), UCF (2000-01), Stanford (2001-04), Western Michigan (2005-2012), Syracuse (2013) and Illinois (2014).
His collegiate stops have produced 15 bowl appearances, multiple NFL and MLB draft picks, as well as an NCAA wrestling champion and a number of Olympians.
He also spent time with the Cleveland Browns at 2013 training camp as part of the Bill Walsh Minority Internship.
He is a certified coach through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCCa) and the United States of America Weightlifting Federation (USAW). He is CPR/AED/First Aid certified through the American Red Cross.
Peoples played at Mississippi State where he went from walk-on to scholarship player as a linebacker.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State in fitness management in 1997. In 1999, Peoples obtained his master’s degree in sports administration, also from MSU.
