2026Â (Junior)
Schurman continued to shoulder much of the pitching load in her junior campaign, leading the team in most pitching categories … she finished the season with a team-low ERA of 4.65 … notched 16 wins, the most by a Cyclone since 2019 … was tied for the team lead in saves with three and now has seven in her career, tied for the fourth-most as a Cyclone … was the only pitcher over 100 innings (144.2) … held the third-most pitching appearances (44) by anyone at the end of the regular season … threw her first-ever complete game shutout against Minnesota (3/13) … threw a second complete game shutout against No. 19 Oklahoma State (4/10).
2025 (Sophomore)
Schurman became the team’s workhorse in her sophomore season, appearing in 48 of 54 games, making 19 starts … her 48 appearances (prior to the NCAA Tournament) led the country … Schurman led the team in strikeouts (65), innings pitched (137.2), saves (4), wins (14) and had the lowest ERA (3.46) … her four saves are tied for the second-most in a single season at ISU … her 48 appearances tied for the most ever in a single season at ISU … opposing batters hit just .288 off her … tallied a career-high six strikeouts against SFA (2/28) … at one point pitched in 15 consecutive games.
2024 (Freshman)
As a true freshman, Schurman pitched the third most innings on the squad, hurling 73 frames of action … recorded a 5.75 ERA, going 3-6, in 29 appearances with 11 starts … she went the distance twice, holding two complete games … along with Jaiden Ralston, she combined to shut out No. 5 Oklahoma State (4/12) … finished the year with 35 strikeouts.
High School
Lettered all four years of high school and was a starter for her high school team every season ... a two-time team captain, Schurman was coached by Gretchen Loose ... as a senior in HS, was a second-team All-State pitcher ... earned First Team conference honors each season ... was a 4.0 student who had 150-plus strikeouts each year of high school and held a 1.36 ERA in her senior year.
Personal
Daughter of Maynard (M.F.) & Suzy Schurman ... has four sisters, McKenzie Schurman, Courtney Shumann, Ashley Toomey and Taylor Fabian ... father Maynard played football and hockey at Mount Allison University ... Maynard then played professional hockey for eight years, including a seven-game stint with the Hartford Whalers of the NHL ... post-playing, Maynard coached the University of Delaware men's hockey program to an ACHA National Championship in 2012 ... mother Suzy competed in the 1988 Winter Olympics in ice dance ... Suzy is a three-time Natioanl Ice Dance Champion and International and World Competitor ... she's a five-time USFS gold medalist and University of Delaware Coach of the Year (2024) ... sister Taylor played soccer at Cal State San Marcos.
