Cancelled Event: Soccer versus #15 Memphis

Andrea Swanson is in her first season as Iowa State Soccer's volunteer assistant coach.
It was announced that Swanson had joined head coach Tony Minatta's staff on Feb. 16, 2018. She joins the Cyclone staff with a wealth of experience around the Iowa State program, having played for ISU for three years as a collegiate goalkeeper.
After graduating from Iowa State in 2014, Swanson continued to expand her coaching resume. The native of Clive, Iowa, served as the Iowa Rush goalkeeper's coach for the 2012 season, and then transitioned to the prep level. Swanson spent the 2012-15 seasons as the volunteer goalkeeper at Valley High School in West Des Moines.
Prior to joining Minatta's staff in Ames, Swanson had most recently served as the volunteer goalkeeper coach at John Brown University. She helped JBU to a third-consecutive conference title, during a season in which the squad ascended to as high as No. 14 nationally in NAIA. While at John Brown University, Swanson coached a four-time first team all-conference GK who went on to play professionally in Sweden.
While at Iowa State, Swanson made 31 starts between the posts, including seven shutouts. She started all 18 games of her senior season, recording 83 total saves, including a career-high 13 saves. vs. Kansas. Swanson was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection (2012, 2014) and also a three-time Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient.
