2010-2011
Qualified for the NCAA Championships at the heavyweight division…was second on the team with 26 victories on the season…kicked off the season by pinning Kent State’s top-twenty ranked Brendan Barlow twice…wrestled back through the consolations to finish third at the Hokie Open…became the Harold Nichols/Cyclone Open champion, picking up two falls and a technical fall en route to the heavyweight title…was 4-0 at the Cliff Keen/NWCA National Duals including a victory over eventual NCAA runner-up Ryan Flores of American…picked up a pair of major decisions over Stryker Lane of Cornell and Lance Moore of Binghamton…earned a 3-2 victory over Blayne Beale of UNI in the final match of the dual to secure a 21-20 victory for the Cyclones…avenged an earlier loss to Oklahoma State’s Blake Rosholt to earn an automatic qualification to the NCAA Championships…defeated Ohio’s Jeremy Johnson and Michigan State’s Joseph Rizqallah before injuring his knee and bowing out of the tournament due to the injury.
2009-2010
Achieved a 20-6 record in his sophomore campaign…recorded four major decisions and eight falls…won the Glen Brand Open and the Briar Cliff Open…defeated JUCO national champion Byron Tate of Wartburg by a major decision of 14-2…ended season on a nine-match winning streak.
2008 - 09
Finished his freshman season with a 16-11 record competing at both heavyweight and 197 pounds for Iowa State ... finished third at the Glen Brand Open, including a 13-0 shutout of Nebraska Kearney’s Gerald Moulton ... finished eighth at the Midlands Championships, wrestling unattached and unseeded ... advanced to Midlands quarterfinal with two straight victories ... competed in the UNI Open, where he pinned Derek Kohrt of Iowa Central in 4:04 ... went 4-2 at the Kaufman-Brand Open ... decisioned Chris McPhail of Minnesota, 9-6 ... beat Nebraska’s Cameron Browne by decision, 12-6 ... competed at the Harold Nichols/Cyclone Open ... took down Adam Fager of Utah Valley in a high scoring match, winning a 18-14 decision ... finished in first place at the Kaye Young Open, going undefeated his first four matches of the season ... scored falls over Damonte Stogner of Ellsworth (4:06) and Steve Catalano of Triton in the first period at the 2:07 mark.
