NCAA Qualifier at 157 pounds … had an impressive regular season but finished with a disappointing postseason after his Big 12 Championship was cut short due to a concussion suffered toward the end of his first match … was unable to get back in his groove at the NCAA Championships and bowed out of the tournament with a 1-2 record … posted a 16-6 record in his lone season as a Cyclone, including a 7-4 mark against ranked opponents … his two losses in the regular season were to eventual top-five seeds at the NCAA Championships (also had a third regular season loss which was a medical forfeit at Cliff Keen Invitational) … recorded eight bonus-point wins on the season (4 TF, 4 MD) … registered 45 takedowns while allowing only eight … went 7-2 in dual action … earned a key major decision over Iowa’s No. 12 Jordan Williams in the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Dual to help the Cyclones beat their in-state rival for the first time in 21 years … runner-up at the CKLV after medically forfeiting in the finals … beat Stanford’s No. 4 Daniel Cardenas, 7-4, in the CKLV semifinals … topped eventual national semifinalist Ty Watters (West Virginia), 5-2, in Hilton Coliseum … beat Missouri’s No. 15 Teague Travis, 5-3, on senior day … Cyclone Invitational champion … ended career as a four-time NCAA Qualifier with a 85-30 record.
