AMES, Iowa--Quarterback Michael Bishop ran for 98 yards and two touchdowns and threw for another to lead seventh-ranked Kansas State to its seventh straight victory, a 28-3 rout of Iowa State in Big 12 Conference action.
Bishop, who has set a school record for rushing yardage (566) by a quarterback this season, had touchdown runs of two and eight yards after opening the scoring with a 15-yard TD strike to Gavin Peries in the first quarter.
Kansas State (10-1, 7-1 Big 12) finishes the season with the second-best record in the conference, but will not play in the championship game because it is in the same division as third-ranked Nebraska (10-0, 7-0), which concludes its season on Friday.
The Wildcats have recorded 10-win seasons in two of the last three years and notched their longest winning streak since capturing seven in a row from 1993-94. They have not won eight straight since 1930-31.
Iowa State (1-10, 1-7) lost its final four games to finish with its worst record since going 0-10-1 in 1994. The Cyclones lead the all-time series, 46-31-4, but have dropped four straight meetings and seven of the last eight.
The Cyclones, who were thumped, 77-14, last week at Nebraska, were held to their lowest point total since a 17-3 loss at Oklahoma on October 3rd, 1992.
