AMES, Iowa - Jerome Heavens, who rushed for 94 yards and one TD during the 1997 football season while making 11 receptions for 68 yards, has re-enrolled at Iowa State after spending the last semester at Los Angeles Southwest (Calif.) Community College. Heavens enrolled in junior college in August to regain his athletic eligibility. He did not play football at LASCC.
"We are elated to welcome Jerome back to Iowa State," said ISU head coach Dan McCarney. "I think his efforts to take care of business show he is serious about his future on and off the football field."
Heavens, a native of Inglewood, Calif., came to Iowa State in the fall of 1996, redshirting his initial collegiate season. He will be a junior on the 1999 Cyclone football team.
