AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State offensive lineman Zach Butler has been named one of the top freshman collegiate football players nationally by The Sporting News. The Iowa City native earned third-team all-freshman honors. Butler started four games as part of an offensive line that blocked for tailback Darren Davis, who became only the fifth back from a Big 12 school to record three 1,000-yard rushing seasons.
