Iowa State Offensive Lineman Ben Bruns Earns All-America Honors

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State center Ben Bruns has been named a third-team All-American by Football News. Bruns, a 6-3, 295-pound senior from Denver, has started 37 career games and blocked for a 1,000-yard rusher in each of the last four seasons. This season, Bruns blocked for first-team all-Big 12 tailback Ennis Haywood, who rushed for 1,237 yards as ISU finished the regular season with an 8-3 record. The Iowa State offensive line ranked second nationally, allowing only seven sacks. Bruns was named to the Football News first-team all-Big 12 squad along with Haywood. Bruns was also named to the academic all-Big 12 second-team Tuesday.
