AMES, Iowa - Jennifer McCall, a former assistant volleyball coach at Auburn, joins the Iowa State volleyball staff as an assistant coach, replacing Kim Oden who accepted a similar position at Stanford.
McCall spent the last five years at Auburn working with the volleyball program, including the last three seasons as a full-time assistant coach. During her tenure at Auburn, McCall helped the Tigers claim a 98-52 overall record and a 1997 Southeastern Western Conference regular season title. Five Tigers earned all-SEC honors seven times, including SEC Freshman of the Year and AVCA District IV honoree Jaunelle Hamilton.
"Jenn has six years of Division I coaching experience and a high level of competitive experience as a player on a national-caliber team," ISU head volleyball coach Linda Grensing said. "She has a great background as a setter and her teaching knowledge will be an important asset for the growth and development of our program."
The Littleton, Colo., native was a four-year starter and team captain at setter for nationally-ranked Florida State from 1990-93. She ended her career second on the Seminoles' all-time assist charts and has the school record for most assists in a match and season. She graduated from FSU in 1994 and earned her master's degree in Health and Human Performance at Auburn in 1996.
