ISU's Jordan Carstens Named Verizon Academic All-American

AMES, Iowa - Cyclone defensive lineman Jordan Carstens was named second-team Verizon Academic All-American (University Division) Monday.
Carstens, a sophomore from Bagley, Iowa, is carrying a 3.52 grade-point average in Agricultural Business. He is also a 2001 CoSIDA/GTE District VII academic All-American, and was one of seven Iowa Staters to earn a place on the Big 12 Conference all-academic team.
Carstens leads all ISU defensive linemen and is fourth on the team with 76 tackles (40 solo). He has also recorded two sacks, 24 quarterback hurries and has recovered a fumble this season.
