AMES, Iowa - For the second-straight season, the Iowa State men's basketball team will be the No. 1 seed at the 2001 Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament. The Cyclones clinched the top seed by defeating Nebraska, 86-73 on Saturday to capture their second consecutive outright Big 12 Conference regular season title.
The tournament begins Thursday March 8 and ends on Sunday March 11. ISU receives a first round bye and will play on Friday March 9 in the first game of the Friday session at Noon. The Cyclones will play the winner of the No. 8 and No. 9 seed game between Baylor and Colorado.
