Jamaal Tinsley is a First-Team All-Big 12 Choice

DALLAS - For the second consecutive season, Iowa State senior point guard Jamaal Tinsley is among five players to earn first-team all-Big 12 honors, announced Monday night by the Big 12 office.
The leading candidate for Big 12 Player of the Year honors, Tinsley is the 13th Cyclone in school history to earn first-team all-conference honors twice in their respective careers. The All-American currently leads ISU in scoring (14.7 ppg), assists (177) and steals (72) and will rank in the ISU career top-five in both steals and assists. His 72 assists on the season ties for second on the ISU single-season steal charts.
Tinsley's backcourt mate senior Kantrail Horton was a second-team selection and senior forward Martin Rancik earned third-team honors. Horton has the second-most treys on the team with 50 and is the conference leader in free throw percentage (86 percent). Rancik has had an excellent season in the post for ISU, ranking second on the team in scoring at 13.6 ppg. Rancik needs 34 points to join the 1,000-point club at ISU.
